From Russia with luxury

From Russia with luxuryFROM the basement car park of this new luxury house on the Sovereign Islands, Gold Coast, one has three choices: go nightclubbing, hit the sauna or simply ride the lift up to the main house.

The night club is an “entertainment room with floor lights,” says the developer, Olga Panov, in broken English. This is an understatement. Like the rest of the house, no expense is spared in the night club, which is as shiny and dark as anything on the nearby strip at Surfers.

The Panov family were initially involved in shipping in Vladivostok, Russia. They moved to Australia eight years ago and recently embarked on real estate development. This house, Allegra, is their second. It took 13 months to build, and is on the market for $7.8 million.

The Panovs’ eye for luxury items and Russian style have blended to create an unique property.

The main colour for the cabinetry, for example, was chosen not from a colour chart, but a car Panov saw in a car yard. The carpenters were amused but impressed.

“They were happy to show our creativity,” Panov said. “We found the colour for them. This is unusual place [to find a colour] but it was fun. And it was nice and good colour combination.”

The house is being offered complete with furniture, much of which was bought from Milan over the internet.
The Elica Collection rangehood, from Italy, is one of only two in Australia.

The house has four bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own sitting area and kitchenette. There is 56m of water frontage and floor-to-ceiling windows with canal views.
