German investors driven more by security than returns: survey
German investors are basing their investment decisions more on the degree of security offered by a market than ever before, with returns and liquidity lagging well behind as motives, according to Union Investment's latest investment climate survey. Some 55% of German investors now rate security as their most important investment motive, compared with 33% six months ago. Security is followed by return (28%), which was the main motive for 43% of investors in the last survey.
By contrast, some 84% of UK investors regard return as the key investment factor, with only 9% considering security as the main motive. Among French investors, 32% rate security as the key investment motive.
Union Investment's latest investment climate survey polled 167 property investors in Germany, France and the UK. The survey is carried out every six months.
