Foreign exchange – why South West London property has particular appeal for international buyers

The Parks selection of properties at all levels of the market attracts a constant stream of interest from families relocating from abroad. What they're looking for is space and a family-friendly environment that is not always found in prime central London locations.

The wide range of excellent schools is a major draw: Marymount International School, the German School and schools such as King's College, that offer the International Baccalaureate, make Coombe, Petersham, Richmond and Wimbledon Village top favourites among overseas buyers and tenants alike.

In Richmond and Barnes over the past three years, international buyers accounted for 19 per cent of all Savills sales, with 7 per cent from Europe and 3 per cent from the USA. The financial services sector continues to be the main source of these relocations, but energy, telecommunications and media companies are also highly active.
