Irish house prices move in the right direction

Irish house prices move in the right direction House prices across Ireland rose by 0.8 per cent during April and it seems the yearly price decline is continuing to ease. Data supplied by the Central Statistics Office shows a more positive outlook for the future direction of residential property prices across the country. The increase witnessed during April is a welcome sign after a 0.5 per cent fall in house price the previous month and compares with a fall of more than 1 per cent during the same month in 2012.

At the moment on a national level house prices are around 50 per cent lower than peak levels seen during the early part of 2007 before the market crash began. On the whole Irish property experts believe green shoots of recovery are evident in many sectors of the market and while residential real estate prices still have a way to go before recovery is established and sustainable the future is beginning to brighten.
