Property prices rose slightly in July everywhere but in Dublin where the prices declined - CSO

Property prices rose slightly in July according to figures from the Central Statistics Office, though the cost of Dublin properties continued to decline.

Overall there was a 0.2% increase in the price of property across the country, following the 1.1% drop recorded in June.

Dublin prices fell 0.3% during July, however, putting them 16.6% lower than they were last year.
This drop was compensated for by a 0.3% increase in prices in counties excluding Dublin, which were 12.1% lower than prices in July 2011.

Overall the CSO said prices fell by 13.6% in the past 12 months and are 50% below their peak in 2007.

There is a 10% difference between the drop in residential prices in Dublin and the rest of the country, however.

Dublin prices have fallen 57% since the peak while the rest of the country has seen price falls of 47%.
